This multi-touch screen is includes an LCD screen, infrared lights and infrared sensors and arduino. It is based on FTIR (frustrated total internal reflection) technology. However, it uses LCD screen and infrared sensor board instead of projection and camera. These additions makes it special.
When user touches the LCD screen surface, infrared sensors are detecting the reflecting lights and calculates location of the finger. By using processing programming environment, it draws the fingers as blobs and runs necessary tracking algorithms.
Aim of this project is making a flat and thin multi-touch screen for an office environment to increase communication and sharing in that office environment.
This project has sported by ESI Design, and it is still on going.
